What better excuse to have a BBQ in the winter then the Super Bowl.
It has been a tradition here for years. This year we are going with the Alabama Barbecue Sauce as one of our featured sauces. The way we do BBQ here is to slow cook the meat in the big wood fired cooker with just a rub on it. We keep the BBQ suace warm and serve it on the side for dipping or cover the meat when it’s on the plate. Or if you want when there is about a hour of cooking time left start basting the meat with the sauce. Whichever way you do it, this is a great BBQ sauce for beef, chicken, and especially pork.

¼ cup vegetable oil
3 Onions, minced
3 large cloves Garlic, minced
1 ½ cups Ketchup
1 ½ cups Cider Vinegar
¾ cups Honey
¾ cups Worcestershire Sauce
4 teaspoons salt
juice from 2 to 3 Lemons

Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
Cook over low heat.
